Multiple bins beat one mixed bin
On any job of size, sorting saves real money. Mixed waste is charged at the highest disposal rate because it cannot be separated cheaply at the transfer station. Cardboard, clean timber and clean concrete all cost less to get rid of when they arrive on their own.
If your job produces two clear streams, ask us to price two bins against one. On a fit-out it is normally the cheaper answer, and it is a genuinely better environmental outcome.
Access is the thing to sort out first
Three questions decide whether a delivery works: what is the overhead clearance at the loading dock, can the truck turn, and who has to approve the placement. A marrel truck needs about three metres of clearance to lift, which rules out a lot of basement docks. Sort that out before the trades are standing around.

Asbestos is the one to be careful about. If you are stripping a wet area or a ceiling in anything built before the late 1980s, stop and get it tested before it goes anywhere near a skip. Putting asbestos in a general bin is an offence and it is expensive for everyone involved.
Where the waste actually goes
Everything we collect goes to a licensed transfer station where it is sorted rather than tipped straight into landfill. Clean concrete, brick and green waste are the easiest streams to recycle and the cheapest to dispose of, which is why separating them saves you money as well as saving the load from landfill.
If you have two clearly different waste streams, ask about two bins. It often works out cheaper than one mixed bin, because mixed loads attract the highest disposal rate.
Common questions
Can you deliver outside business hours?
Often yes. Retail and office jobs frequently have to happen before opening or after close, and loading dock access is usually easier then. Tell us the window when you book.
Do you invoice, or is it pay on delivery?
We can invoice for ongoing commercial work. For a one-off bin we normally take payment on delivery by card, cheque or direct deposit.
Can we have more than one bin at once?
Yes, and for a fit-out it is usually cheaper. One bin for clean recyclable material and one for general waste beats a single mixed bin, because mixed loads are charged at the highest disposal rate.
Do you handle strata and body corporate jobs?
Regularly. Building management usually needs to approve the placement and the timing before we arrive, so start that conversation early. Loading dock height clearance is the thing that catches people out.
What about confidential paperwork?
Do not put it in a skip. A skip bin is not secure and its contents are sorted by hand at the transfer station. Use a document destruction service for anything sensitive.
