Asbestos is the one to be careful about. If you are stripping a wet area or a ceiling in anything built before the late 1980s, stop and get it tested before it goes anywhere near a skip. Putting asbestos in a general bin is an offence and it is expensive for everyone involved.
How ordering works
There is no booking form to wrestle with. You call, we ask what you are throwing out and where the bin is going, and we tell you the size and the price on the phone. If we can get it to you the same day we will say so, and if we cannot we will tell you that too rather than take the booking and leave you waiting.
When you are finished, call us and we collect it. Hire is seven days as standard.
Where the waste actually goes
Everything we collect goes to a licensed transfer station where it is sorted rather than tipped straight into landfill. Clean concrete, brick and green waste are the easiest streams to recycle and the cheapest to dispose of, which is why separating them saves you money as well as saving the load from landfill.
If you have two clearly different waste streams, ask about two bins. It often works out cheaper than one mixed bin, because mixed loads attract the highest disposal rate.
